Food Stamps (SNAP)

The SNAP (Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program) food benefits helps people with low incomes and resources buy the food they need for good health. SNAP benefits are given to a single person or family who meets the program’s requirements. SNAP benefits are given through the Lone Star Card, a plastic card used just like a credit card at the cash register to pay for food purchases where accepted. VN TeamWork offers FREE application assistance, come see if you are eligible today!

Requirements:

SNAP benefits depend greatly on your personal situation and the amount of people living in the household. The income used to determine your eligibility is not the same as your gross income. SNAP takes into account housing costs and utility costs. SNAP also takes a look at your total assets to see if you qualify for the program.

For families that have less than $150 in income per month and under $100 in resources qualifies for expedited SNAP. This program offers emergency benefits for families in dire need. A family may also be able to get emergency SNAP if their housing and utilities payments exceed their income.
